* Good coffee and tea, reasonably priced.* Friendly barista.* Warm, casual environment.* Nice long hours Monday through Saturday.* Only negative comment I can think of is that they're closed on Sunday. I understand that this is small city and that it's nice for employees, but being closed all dsy Sunday is a shame.* Regardless, this is definitely a gem in Ottumwa and I hope this shop prospers!

Terrific food and ambience. Take a stroll around the dining area to view antiques from around the world. Very friendly staff. Will try the al fresco dining area in warm weather. You can linger over a meal, or dessert and a beverage here. Room for a larger party or intimate enough for one or two.Recommended dishes

One of my favorite lunch/coffee/business meeting spots in the region. Super friendly and attentive staff with a wonderful atmosphere and attention to cleanliness. The food though is fantastic -- rotating DAILY HOMEMADE soups. Love the Chicken Salad Croissant and the Tomato Basil Bisque. I enjoy bringing clients for business meetings here as well. It's also good to know that a portion of each sale helps run the soup kitchen in the back!

Top Hat is such a wonderful and cheerful place to be. The staff is just amazing. And you couldn't ask for better company than the owners Gary and Sherri. And love going to watch the live entertainment when I get a chance!

Ordered a Large chai latte. Their large is a 16 oz and the total was over $6.There was some sort of pastry or something under a clear dome on the counter. I asked what it was and the young woman at the register said, "I don't know." There was no effort to find out what it was.I got my latte and there was absolutely ZERO chai in it. It was essentially a cup of hot milk. Not sure if they didn't hear the "chai" part of my order or what but I was pretty disappointed.

I love coming here! The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly and kind. Plus, the Italian Cream Sodas are amazing!! I am so happy I found this place, I would definitely recommend it!

Great coffee! I ordered a quad shot latte without flavor, so the coffee flavor itself is important to me. It was delicious! We ordered avocado toast with Pico de gallo (south of the border, avocado toast), and we loved it! I think I'd ask for it to be toasted a little more, but that's just a personal preference. Already thinking about our next visit. It's a nice vibe and great for hanging out and great service where visiting is encouraged without feeling rushed. Thank you!
